Wikipedia describes inertia as the resistance of an object to change its state of motion or rest. We’ve been resisting a change to our state of rest here in Provo for a month to the day, today, which might explain why we’re not off to a blistering start.
We told everybody last night that we’d be casting off at 8 this morning. Pffffffttttttt! It’s now 11:00 am and we’re still at the fuel dock; but you know how it is, nothin’s easy on the boat.
Provo’s been a great stop for us; we’re well rested & ready for the next leg, and today’s the day to get a move on (albeit a late one). We’re aiming for Dominican Republic and hope to get to Samaná by sometime Wednesday, but we’ll see how we do.
We’re really going to miss the friends (new & old) we’ve made in Provo & North Caicos – we could have settled in for who-knows-how-long here. Our wait for weather has been a very easy one, and we now have a new gotta-go-back destination on the map.
Until Samaná (or Luperon if things go sideways on us)…
