Hi Maryl and Phil,
Love the sailboat, it looks awesome! Hope you have a wonderful, safe trip. Enjoy yourselves and come back refreshed next year. Looking forward to more of your stories and hopefully lots more photos!
Best wishes to you both,
Shelley
Thanks Shelley 🙂
Hi
I missed you!! I was in Kingston on the 7th. We stopped in all the marinas from Gan to Kingston, but for the life of me I couldn’t remember the name of your boat and didn’t know what it looked like, so not too many persons were willing to tell me anything. Anyway you launched your boat and it’s safe and sound and now you have to get ready to be secure and unassailable on this new journey.
Can’t wait to travel vicariously through you. Bye Susie
Hi Susie – thanks for looking for us, sorry we didn’t connect. Btw, we use those glasses and cutting boards you got us almost every day. Very boat-life-intuitive of you – thanks again!
The boat looks beautiful! Congratulations on that big hurdle – soon you’ll be on your way and all the chaos will be in your wake. Wishing you fair winds and smooth sailing from your friends on General Ave!
Land Lubbers Log (Me), Monday, August 20th. It’s 9 days since your post and my thoughts drift to how you are doing. Nice blog and nice pictures. Did you end up setting up the ability to post to the interwebz from the high seas, or is it whenever you land and hit an Internet Cafe?
Keeping out a fair weather eye for your next post. Best wishes from the Lux Clan.
Christopher, Elizabeth, Alyea and Morgan.
Hi Chris…no, no ability to connect from the high seas yet, which is why we’re loitering in a Duncan Donuts in Fulton NY (the unsweetened iced tea with lemon is pretty good, though).
We should get better at keeping the blog updated now that most of the work to get the boat ready is finished (truth is, we were too pooped to update it most days).
Visit the Where’s Water Music page to track our progress. Thanks for following!
Maryl and Phil,
Hope the things are bit less hectic for you now.
Sorry, we missed you on Thursday Aug 02, you just left.
If you are in town or someone from Ottawa is going to Kingston, we still have that smoked meat for you. Can be picked from our place.
Fair winds and following sea.
Ela and Andrew
Hi Maryl
Chris sent me the link to your blog so this morning I was going through the pictures and posts with great interest. Congrats for the marvelous idea and the courage to put it in motion. I will be checking for updates. Who came up with “Water Music”? It is such a wonderful name!
Wish you fair weather and safe trip back.
Keep us posted!
Regards,
Victor
Hi Victor! I should have sent you the link…we were a little reluctant/shy to spam loads of people with it. If you know anyone else who’d be interested, please pass it on.
The boat came with the name Water Music. Originally we were going to change it to “Undelay”, our made-up word meaning to stop waiting, and like “Andele”, which sounds good said 3 times over the VHF (thanks to our friend Kim for the idea). But in the end, we decided we liked Water Music. Thanks for your interest in the blog!
hi maryl,
that’s a really beautiful sail boat & glad you’ve finally set sail. you weren’t kidding when you said the keel is about as tall as me. wishing you both a wonderful trip, hope you have great weather and please keep this site updated.
cheers,
kham.
